Science Project: Diseases

Science Project – Diseases affecting the Human Body

This term we have been studying the systems of the body and learning about their organs that make up these systems and their functions. You are going to select a disease that affects one of the organs or systems to do a presentation on. You can choose to create a digital presentation, Bristol board display or a model of the diseased organ to show how it is affected. In addition to your presentation or model, you will need to write a written report about what you have researched.

Subheadings in your written report and presentation:

  • What is your disease?
  • How does it affect your body?
  • What does this disease look like?
  • How do you get this type of disease?
  • Can you prevent this disease from happening?
  • Is there a cure for it?
  • What kind of treatments is available?
  • Is this disease very common? How many people in the world have it?
  • Additional facts that you found interesting

All reports are to be completed in detailed paragraphs. Please copy and paste any links you use to research your topic and put it at the end of your report or the last slide of your presentation. Your presentation and project is due on Friday November  28th, 2014. This gives you 4 weeks to work on your presentation, model and your written report.
